Frequently Asked Questions

How can I donate money?

We have partnered with Virgin Money Giving (a non-profit making company), to offer you a simple and secure way to donate on-line to Amargur. You can make a single payment, regular monthly payments or pay using PayPal. Alternatively, if you prefer to set up a direct debit with your bank, you can download a form on our ‘Donate Now’ page. Any donation made via Virgin Money Giving will appear on your bank or credit card statement as ‘Virgin money giving’. If you are a UK tax payer you can Gift Aid your donation which allows us to reclaim the tax you have paid on your donation. For every £1 you donate with Gift Aid we can recover 28p from the government. This increases your donation to £1.28.

How much of the money donated goes directly to the charity?

100% of your donations go directly to the children.

Why is a charity registered as a limited company?

Amargur is registered as a limited company to provide us with a clear, legal status. More importantly, we are also a registered charity which ensures we comply with the Charities Act 2006.

How can I find out what’s new?

Once you have donated money to us, and if you agree, we can store your contact details and e-mail you our twice yearly newsletter which will provide updates on our latest projects, successes and challenges.

You don’t have to donate to receive these updates, simply click on our ‘Newsletter / e-updates’ button and fill in your contact details.

This will give you the opportunity to see just how much of a difference your donation has made to the lives of some of the poorest children in the world.
